Claude E. Evans, 93, passed away Feb. 3, 2017 in Palm Harbor, Florida where he lived since 1995. He spent most of his life living in Frederick. He is survived by his loving wife, Naomi; sons, Charles (Kathie) and Michael (Camille); two grandchildren Sarah (Evan) and Allan (Inga); six great-grandchildren, Henry, Sierra, Krystal, Jaden, Melanie, and Clayton; daughter-in-heart, Annie (Scott), and grandson-in-heart, Andrew. Claude and Naomi recently celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary.
After serving as a United States Marine with the 6th Marine Division in the Pacific Theater in World War II, Claude worked as a patrol officer with the Frederick City Police Department before beginning his successful career with the Maryland Department of Motor Vehicles.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 10, 2017 at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick. The funeral will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 11, at the funeral home where the family will receive friends one hour prior to services. Interment will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery.
