Clarence W. Shriner, 82, of Thurmont, Maryland, died peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, on Thursday, February 1, 2018 at his home.
Born on December 31, 1935, in Thurmont, he was the son of the late Harry W. and Caroline Emma (Alexander) Shriner. His wife of 50 years, Marylee Shriner, survives him.
Clarence served with the Army National Guard of Maryland from 1953 to 1959. He retired as a general contractor superintendent with Buch Construction.
In addition to his wife, Marylee, he is survived by his children, Diane Wood (Tom), Mike Shriner (Irma), Vicky Brice, Barbara Forrest (Chris), David Shriner (Linda), Donald Shriner (Debbie), Karen Hahn (Jeff), Eddie Shriner (Melanie) and Jeff Shriner (Beth); 16 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, James Shriner (Sharon), Robert Shriner, Wanda Myers, Darlene Wetzel (Bob), Marlene Gillispie, Cliff Shriner, Carol Pryor (Ed) and Phyllis Richardson; brother-in-law, Jim Wolf (Tammy); numerous nieces and nephews; and his beloved pet, Allie, the cat.
He was preceded in death by his sisters, Mary Wolf and Virginia Eyler.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, February 4, 2018 at Stauffer Funeral Home, 104 East Main Street in Thurmont.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, February 5, 2018 at Stauffer Funeral Home in Thurmont. The Rev. Tim May will officiate. Burial will be held at Resthaven Memorial Gardens in Frederick.
