Clarence Rhoderick

C. Michael (Mike) Rhoderick, 57, of Adamstown, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 7, 2018 while under Hospice care at Frederick Memorial Hospital.

Born on November 24, 1961, in Frederick, MD, he was the son of Delbert M. Rhoderick Sr. and Emma G. (King) Rhoderick.

In addition to his parents, Mike is survived by his siblings, Charles E. Rhoderick Sr. and wife Alice, Connie Cerruto, Penny Rhoderick-Smith and partner Tim Hodges, Delbert M. Rhoderick Jr. and wife Kelli, Irene Johnson and many nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. Mike will also be greatly missed by his girlfriend Darby Zimmermann; aunts, Bec Crook, Helen Burdette and Virgie Kemp; niece, Sarah Mirage and friend, Hal Zimmerman.

Mike was preceded in death by his grandparents, Clarence A. King Sr., Myrtle (Poole) King, C. Vernon Rhoderick and Mary (Fox) Rhoderick.

Mike was self-employed for the last 34 years, operating a successful excavating business (C. Michael Rhoderick Backhoe Service). In that time, Mike taught anyone willing to learn how to run the equipment. In addition to his excavating business Mike was a hobby farmer supplying hay to neighbors and friends.

He was hardworking and known for his mechanical ability to fix things; if Mike couldn’t fix it, it probably wasn’t fixable. He was very talented at auto body work repairing and painted a lot of his own equipment. Mike was always willing to lend a hand. Mike had a quick wit and sense of humor that brought smiles to many faces.
