Clarabelle West

Clarabelle (Clara) Grimes West, 83, 1713 West Seventh Street, Frederick, Maryland, formerly of Woodsboro and Walkersville courageously passed away on Tuesday, August 10, 2010, after a long illness.  She passed away at the Frederick Memorial Hospital, Frederick, Maryland with her family by her side.

Born on May 5, 1927, in Legore, Maryland she was the daughter of the late Sheridan S. and Blanche C. Potts Grimes.

S he was the wife of the late Donald M. (Doc) West, who passed away on April 3, 1980, and were married 36 years on November 5, 1944.

She was predeceased in death by her sisters Mary R. Fogle, Dessie L. Horner, Kathlyn Bowers, Frances Grimes, Ernestine Smith and brothers Kenneth E. Grimes, James E. Grimes, Sheridan L. Grimes and Claude Grimes.  She was also predeceased in death by a grandson Rodney W. West and a great grandson Robert "Boo" W. Faulkner.

Ms. West was employed with Claire Frock Company, Inc., Thurmont, Gee Bee Department Store, and Value City, Frederick, MD until she retired and enjoyed watching TV, puzzle books, crocheting doilies for the Great Frederick Fair which she enjoyed and for her family and friends.

She is survived by two sons, Donald M. West, Jr., of Waynesboro, PA, and Ronnie E. West and wife Cynthia, of Frederick, MD.  She is also survived by two grandchildren, Robert W. West and wife Patricia of Walkersville, MD and Jenni M. West, of Hagerstown, MD.  She is also survived by great grandchildren, Jesse, Corey, Brandon, and Bethany West.

The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick on Thursday, August 12 ^th from 7-9PM and on Friday, August 13 ^th from 2-4 and 7-9PM.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 14 ^th at 11:00 AM at Grace Rocky Hill Lutheran Church, Coppermine Rd., Woodsboro, MD with Rev. Jerry A. Price officiating.

Interment will be at the Grace Rocky Hill Lutheran Church.
