Clara Linda James, 81, of Shepherdstown, West Virginia, died Monday, March 30, 2015 at Berkeley Medical Center, Martinsburg, West Virginia.
Born February 4, 1934 in Daisy, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Helen V. Duvall and Raymond W. Walker, Sr. Clara was preceded in death by her husband, Frank James.
Clara was a homemaker who loved to crochet, play Bingo and devoted her time to taking care of children.
She was a member of Burnside First Church of God in Sharpsburg, MD.
Surviving are her children, Roger Walker and wife, Barbara, of Great Cacapon, WV, Preston L. Knight and Judy of Harrells, NC, Frank E. James and wife, Debra, of New Market, MD and Betty L. Hensley and husband, Michael, of Shepherdstown, WV; nine grandchildren, Dawn, Denise, Shawn, April, Toni, Jessica, Michael, Melissa and Joshua; 13 great-grandchildren; and sister, Lula Mae Cox of Walkersville, MD.
She was preceded in death by infant children, Virginia Knight and Robert Knight; sister, Alice Jackson and brother, Raymond W. Walker, Jr.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday, April 2, 2015 at Stauffer Funeral Home, 8 East Ridgeville Blvd., Mt. Airy.
Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Friday, April 3 at Stauffer Funeral Home in Mt. Airy with family member Ryan Nakielny officiating. Burial will follow in Seal’s Family Cemetery, Damascus Road, Etchison, MD.
