Clara Himes

Clara F. (Keyser) Himes, 95, of Boonsboro, Maryland, passed away into the arms of her Lord and Savior on Thursday afternoon, September 25, 2014, at the Golden Living Center in Hagerstown, Maryland.

Born on July 11, 1919, in Brunswick, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Daniel W. and Annie L. (Bernard) Keyser.  Her husband, Joseph L. Himes, preceded her in death in 1981.

Clara graduated from Brunswick High School.

She was a member of Boonsboro Family Worship Center in Boonsboro.

Clara was a homemaker all of her life and took great pride in raising her children, grandchildren, and other family friends.  She loved life, her family, and her church family.

She is survived by her son, Hilton Himes and his wife, Arlene, of Downsville, Maryland; her two daughters, Sandy Jones and her husband, William, of Sharpsburg, Maryland and Judy Phillips and her husband, Gary, of Boonsboro.  She is also survived by her five grandchildren, Terry Pryor, Donna and Skip Himes, Susan Donachy, and Holly Holderby; twelve great-grandchildren; and fifteen great-great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Blanche Coffman and Mildred Case; and her four brothers, Dan, Casey, Earl, and Glen Keyser; and her grandson, Timothy Cogle.

A funeral ceremony will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, September 29, 2014 at the Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike, Boonsboro, Maryland. Pastor Jack C. Payne will officiate. Final resting place ceremonies will follow at the Brownsville Heights Cemetery in Brownsville, Maryland.

Family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 28, 2014, at the funeral home.
