Christopher A. Sanders, 30, of Thurmont, MD, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, Jan. 31, 2018, at his home. Born March 10, 1987, in Frederick, MD, he was the son of Alan H. and Kathleen L. (Green) Sanders.
Christopher was graduated from Catoctin High School and while at Catoctin, he attended the Frederick Career and Technology Center where he became a member of the National Technical Honor Society for Computer Aided Design (CAD) and received his State of Maryland certification for CAD.
Christopher went on and received his Bachelor’s Degree in Agribusiness Management and Rural Development from the Davis School of Agriculture, West Virginia University C’2010. He was also a member of the AGR (Alpha Gamma Rho) Fraternity at West Virginia University.
Christopher was employed by COMUS Construction. LLC, in Woodsboro, MD where he was a heavy equipment operator.
Christopher’s hobbies and interest were hunting, fishing, and sitting by the bon fire with his friends and sharing memories and laughs. He also loved the Hog Roasts his Fraternity held each year at the Fraternity House at West Virginia University. He loved to help anyone in need either by cutting wood and delivering loads of wood to customers, plowing snow with his buddy’s father’s company down in Montgomery County, shoveling snow for neighbors who could not do it themselves, attending Baltimore Ravens camp when it was held up at McDaniel (formerly Western Maryland) College with his dad, and while a student at West Virginia University, he never missed a football game. He was always willing to help people out when they needed someone to talk to and help them through tough times.
Christopher was a member of St. Anthony Shrine Parish in Emmitsburg, MD where he served as an alter boy from elementary school through high school. He also was a member of the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office Explorers Group all through High School.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his sister, Bridget L. Sanders (and fiancé Christopher Tillman and his daughter, Briana) and their daughter, Christopher’s niece, Elycia L. Tillman, all residing in Kennesaw, GA. Maternal Grandfather, John G. Green (wife, Marguerite) of Batavia, NY; Michael J. Green (wife, Lori) of Littleton, NC; Kevin P. Green (wife, Jenny) of Mendham, NJ, and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Predeceased by his maternal grandmother, Barbara A. (Babs) Green of Frederick, MD; and paternal grandparents, Margaret T. and Howard R. Sanders of Rocky Ridge, MD.
The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 104 E. Main St., Thurmont, MD 21788 on Saturday, February 10, 2018 from 2-4 pm. Following visitation, there will be a repass at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish Hall, 103 Church Street, Thurmont, MD. Attire is causal for both the visitation and repass.
Interment will be private immediately following the visitation for immediate family, and they will join the repass following the burial ceremony.

This is a tax deductible donation that will go into a fund that will be utilized to support projects on the farm, such as building projects, updating barns, and maintenance of feed mill equipment, just to name a few. Christopher was farm manager while a student at WVU and some of his happiest times were spent on the farm.
