Christine Fisher

Christine (McHugh) Fisher 50, of Frederick, Maryland, passed from this life on Sunday, August 18, 2019 at her home surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle with cancer.

Born on June 18, 1969, in Silver Spring, MD, she was the daughter of Mary Harting and the late Vincent Gerard McHugh , Jr.

She was the loving wife to Gregory Fisher for 24 years.

Christine graduated from Poolesville High School, Poolesvlle, MD in 1987 and received her Bachelors of Science degree from the University of Maryland.

Christine began her career with the United States Federal Government, Securities and Exchange Commission in 1992, then in 1993 Christine transferred to the National Institutes of Health and completed her career with the Food and Drug Administration, where she started in 2012 as a Program Analysist within the Division of Human Resources, Office Management.

In addition to her husband, Christine is survived by her daughter, Madeline Fisher; mother, Mary Harting and husband George, of Keedysville, Md; brother, Daniel V McHugh, wife Lauri-Ann of Frederick, Md; sister Kimberly Wylie and husband Shane of Brunswick, Md; nephew: Joshua Fisher and wife Audrey of New Bern, NC; nieces: Jessica Vasquez and her husband Jeremy of Savannah, GA; Ashley Eckenrode and fiancé Brian Bernens of Rockville, Md; Alexandra Eckenrode and boyfriend Jake Lewis of Hagerstown; and Brittney Wurdeman and husband Justin of Woodbridge, Virginia; Grandnephews Colton Fisher, Braylen Failor and Kais Vasquez and Grandniece Amelia Fisher.

Christine loved her family and the beach but her “Happy Place” was the Florida Keys and the beautiful sunsets.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm on Saturday, September 7, 2019 at Stauffer Funeral Homes, 1621 Opossumtown Pike in Frederick, MD.  Following the reception at the Funeral home, the family will be hosting a gathering at Kimberly and Shane Wylie’s home in Brunswick, MD, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM where food and refreshments will be provided.

The family would like to thank all the nurses and doctors at the Johns Hopkins, Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center and the nurses at the Hospice of Frederick County for their compassionate care .
