Charlotte W. Snyder

Charlotte W. Snyder, 93, of Frederick, Maryland passed away on Monday,November 20, 2006 at the Frederick Memorial Hospital. She was the wife of the late Howard Green Snyder who passed away on April 14, 1955. They married on August 13, 1938.

Born November 29, 1912 in New Vernon, New Jersey, she was the daughter of the late Charlotte E. Van Doren Wenman and John L. Wenman.

Charlotte attended the Harding School in New Vernon, NJ, was a graduate of the Morristown High School in Morristown, NJ, a graduate of Trenton Normal School in Trenton, NJ and then received her Bachelor of Science degree at Trenton State College.

After her husband's death she taught at the Harrison School in Trenton for 21 years.

She was a member of the Covenant Presbyterian Church for over 50 years. She served as Elder, Trustee, And Sunday School Teacher and Superintendent. She chaired and served on numerous church committees over the years.

She was also a member of the Contemporary Women's Club and served as an officer, a member of the Mercer Hospital Auxiliary and a member of the Trenton Psychiatric Hospital Auxiliary, all in Trenton, NJ.

Her volunteer work included delivering mobile meals for over 24 years, Chairman of the Sewing Committee at Mercer Hospital, Sewing and Gift Committee at Trenton Psychiatric Hospital and tutored in the school system, all in Trenton, NJ.

She moved to Frederick, MD in 2000 and attended Walkersville United Methodist Church.

She is survived by a son, Bob Snyder of Frederick, MD, former daughter-in-law, Denyse Corrado of Chevy Chase, MD, two Grandsons, Charles Snyder and wife Kelly of Emmitsburg, MD and Timothy Snyder and wife Lisa of Thumont, MD, a granddaughter, Kim Snyder of Clarksburg, MD and great grandchildren Aidan, Ashlynn, Brandon, Matthew, Noelle and Payton.

She will also be remembered by her numerous other loving family members and friends.

Services: A memorial service will be held on Friday, December 1, 2006 at 11:00 AM at the Walkersville United Methodist Church, 22 Main Street, Walkersville.

Grave side services and interment will be held at the First Presbyterian Church Cemetery in New Vernon, NJ in the Spring of 2007.
