Charlotte E. Beard

Mrs. Charlotte E. "MeMaw" Beard, 93, of Walkersville died Tuesday, February 20, 2018 at Frederick Memorial Hospital surrounded by her family. She was the wife of the late Paul R. Beard who predeceased her on June 20, 2004.

Born January 30, 1925 in Frederick, she was the daughter of the late Monroe and Laura (Young) West.

She retired from Micro Biological Associates in Walkersville.

Mrs. Beard was a member of Chapel Lutheran Church, where she was a Sunday school teacher and sang in the church choir. She participated in Johnsville Seniors, Meals on Wheels and the Commission on Aging. She enjoyed bowling and going on senior bus trips.

Mrs. Beard is survived by four children, Larry Beard and wife, Shirley, of Walkersville; Sharon Eanes and husband, Wayne, of Walkersville; Carol Rausch and husband, Glenn, of Woodsboro; and James Beard and wife, Sandra, of Myersville; seven grandchildren, Christopher Beard, Casey Rausch and wife Sherry, Carey Owens and husband Brian, Corey Rausch, Cody Rausch, Joseph Beard and wife Katie, and Samantha Beard; and six great-grandchildren, Owen and Logan Rausch, Nora and Hunter Owens, and Jacob and Emily Beard.

She was predeceased by her brother, David West.

The family would like to thank her caregivers with Right at Home for the loving care given to Charlotte.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, February 23, 2018 at Stauffer Funeral Home, 40 Fulton Ave., Walkersville.

Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m on Saturday, February 24 from Chapel Lutheran Church, 11109 Daysville Rd., Libertytown, MD 21762, with Mr. Ron Brown, student pastor officiating.

Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
