Charles "Tom" Fisher

Charles Thomas Fisher, 76, of Mount Airy, Maryland passed away peacefully on December 21, 2020 at Shady Grove Adventist Hospital in Rockville, MD. He was the loving husband to Barbara Fisher for 37 years. He was the beloved father of David Fisher and Pamela Wetzel and proud grandfather of Samantha and Adam Everett.

Born on June 29, 1944 in Washington, DC, he was the son of the late Charles and Ethel Fisher.

Tom was a very caring man and his greatest enjoyment was being with his family. He also enjoyed target shooting, boating, fishing, and wood working. He was a member of the National Rifle Association and National Wildlife Federation. He enjoyed long talks with family and friends and teaching his grandchildren everything he knew. He shared a mutual love for cheeseburgers and chocolate with his son.

Tom was a smart man. He graduated at the top of his class in 1964 from the College of Finance at Strayer Junior College, currently Strayer University. He also studied accounting at the University of Maryland. Tom was a loyal employee having spent most of his career working for Sidney Berger and Company until it closed. He then started his own public accounting business, C. Thomas Fisher, LLC, to continue serving clients. He thoroughly enjoyed his work and considered many of his clients to be close friends. He took pride in supporting some of them for over 40 years.

Tom is survived by his wife, daughter, grandchildren, brother, Robert Fisher of Taylor, Texas, as well as and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his son, David.

The family will forever be grateful to the doctors and nurses at Shady Grove Adventist Hospital for caring for Tom during his final days.

This educational program was important to Tom.
