Charles Edward Mercer

Mr. Charles Edward Mercer, 76, of Frederick, died on Sunday, January 28, 2007 at his home. He is survived by his wife of 53 years,
Mary (Parrish) Mercer.

Born on July 2, 1929 in Legore, MD, he was a son of the late Frank John and Emma Elizabeth(Staub ) Mercer.

Mr. Mercer attended the Frederick Church of the Brethren. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served during the Korean War. He enjoyed camping with his family at
Chincoteague, fishing, boating, bowling and shooting pool. He was a great father, grandfather
and was loved by everyone.

Surviving beside his wife are a son Charles L. Mercer and wife Patty of Middletown,
daughters Kathy Staley and husband Garry Staley, Sr., of Frederick, Candy Mercer of Frederick, 9 grandchildren; Christine Palmer, Tita Maher, Brenda Tregoning, Chantelle Price, Garry Staley, Jr.Ashton Mercer, Jaedyn Bugg ,Anthony Bugg, Jr.and James Tregoning,11 great-grandchildren, 4 brothers, Leonard L. Mercer of Frederick, Jack Mercer of Brookville, FL, John Mercer of Shepardstown, WV, Paul Mercer of Frederick, 2 sisters, Betty Stone of Limesville, MD and Shirley Springer of Jefferson, MD, he was preceded in death by 2 children; Wanda Tregoning and Wayne Mercer, 3 brothers; Melvin, Jessie, and Lloyd Mercer, 5 sisters; Daisey M. Stitley, Joan Snoots, Florence Watson, Geraldine Lowe, Anabel Sherman

Visitation: Family will receive friends at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, on Wednesday, January 31st, from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.

Services: Services will be held at the funeral home on Thursday at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Dr. Michael Watson officiating.
Interment in Mount Olivet Cemetery
