Charles "Bill" Shuff, Jr.

Mr. Charles William "Bill" Shuff, Jr., 73, of Frederick, MD passed away Saturday, October 29, 2016 at his home. He was the beloved husband of Cheryl Ann Shuff for 22 years.

Born February 21, 1943 in Thurmont, MD he was the son of the late Charles William, Sr. and Beatrice Long Shuff.

Bill proudly served his country in the U.S. Army for 20 years. He earned his Associate degree from Miami Dade College, his Bachelor degree from University of Tampa and his Master's degree from Webster University, St. Louis, MO. Prior to his retirement, Bill, worked for the U.S. Postal service as a letter carrier. He was a member of the American Legion and was an avid bowler and enjoyed golf. In his spare time Bill enjoyed going to Charles Town, WV to play slots.

In addition to his wife he is survived by his children Charles Shuff, III and wife Meri of Chicago, IL, Camille Havelka and husband Mike of Houston,TX, Suzanne O'Hara and husband Steve of Houston,TX and Christine Sanchez of Thurmont and former son-in-law Christopher Sanchez of Thurmont;grandchildren Steven Havelka, Rachelle Havelka, Joshua Vinson and fiancé Michelle Smith, Blake O'Hara, Jasmine Sanchez and Christopher Sanchez, Jr.and one great-grandson Elijah Vinson; sisters Nelda Burdette and husband Lewis of Damascus and Jane Way of Walkersville; brother-in-law Eugene Schoonover of Frederick. He will also be missed by his faithful Boston terrier Mika.

He was preceded in death by his brother Robert Shuff, sister Patricia Schoonover and brother-in-law Jack Way.

The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick on Saturday, November 5, 2016 from 2-3:30PM where a funeral service will begin at 3:30PM. Rev. Tim May will officiate.

Interment will be at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
