Mr. Charles B. Kopelman, 77 of Frederick, MD., died Wednesday, November 29, 2006 at his home.
Born December 24, 1928 in Hartford, Connecticut he was the son of the late Joseph and Ethel Calechman Kopelman.
Mr. Kopelman graduated from New Haven, Conn. High School in 1947, attended the University of Connecticut for two years. He then joined the USAF in 1950 and flew 59 combat missions as an Aerial gunner in Korea. His awards included: Distinguished Flying Cross, three air medals and numerous US and UN participation medals. He was a member of FSK Post #11, American Legion, AMVETS Post #2, Korean War Veterans Post #142, all of Frederick, also 17th Bomb Group Veterans and A/B-26 Restoration Museum. He started in retail in 1957 and retired in 1986. He was an avid aviation enthusiast and talented writer.
He is survived by his children David H. Kopelman, Judith M. Oser and husband Stuart and Ellen deFilippis, Two grandchildren, and a sister Rebecca Stone. He will also be remembered by his special friends and his fellow Korean War Veterans.

Memorial services will be held Friday, December 1, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. from Har Sinai Congregation, 2905 Walnut Avenue, Baltimore, MD., with graveside service to follow at 1:45 p.m. from Har Sinai Cemetery,
Garrison Forest Road, Owings Mills, MD
