Mr. Charles “Mike” F. Unger, 78, of Thurmont, Maryland, passed away Thursday, May 31, 2012 at St. Joseph Ministries Nursing Home, Emmitsburg. He was the husband of the late Dorothy Unger.
Born January 6, 1934 in Thurmont, MD., he was the son of the late Lester A. and Gertrude A. Sweeney Unger.
Mr. Unger was a member of the United Church of Christ, Eagles Aarie #2002, Waynesboro and AARP. He enjoyed playing golf and sports.
Mike was the manager of Super Thrift in Thurmont for many years.
He is survived by two children Patricia Ann Unger Phillips and Michael Charles Unger, grandchildren Samantha Phillips, Brittany Unger, Paige Phillips, Victoria Unger and Michael Unger, Jr. He was preceded in death by two brothers Morris Luther Unger and Arthur John Unger.
Graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m, on Wednesday, June 6, at the Blue Ridge Cemetery, Thurmont.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Joseph Ministries, S. Seton Avenue, Emmitsburg, MD.
