Charles Clayton Stup, 90, of Frederick, MD died on February 26, 2011. He was the loving husband of Pauline Compher Stup for 68 years.
He was born July 9, 1920 in Charlesville, MD. He was the son of the late Raymond R. Stup and Carrie Martz Stup.
He spent his entire life farming and raising beef cattle. He was also a school bus contractor and driver for 37 years for the Board of Education and never lived more than a ½ mile from where he was born.
He was a former member of Frederick Co. Farm Bureau and a life member of Lewistown PTA. His hobby was gardening and he loved to work in the fields planting and tending crops. Nothing made him happier than mowing fields and the meadow. He was a life time member of Bethel Lutheran Church where he served on the Council and Building Committee in earlier years.
In addition to his wife he is survived by a sister Margaret Sunday of Frederick; special nieces and nephews Ronald, Rick and Eddie Stup, Stephen, Kenneth and Doug Sunday, Barbara Bell, Kenneth, Bob and Ron Long, Shirley Acres, Gloria Barr and Mary Baer and numerous other nieces and nephews; special friends Debbie Ellington, Jessica Lambert and Brad and Donald Lambert.
He is preceded in death by sisters Helen Warrenfeltz and Mary Baer and his brother Marion Stup.
The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick on Wednesday, March 2 at 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m. Pastor Bob Lehman will be officiating. Interment will follow at Faith United Church of Christ Cemetery 9333 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, MD
