Charles W. Stanford, Jr.

Charles W. Stanford Jr., 83 years of age, passed away the evening of June 18, 2023 in Frederick, Maryland after an extended illness.

 He was born December 30, 1939 in Fernandina Beach, Florida of the late Charles W. Stanford Sr and Juanita Cook.  He is survived his two sons, Charles W. Stanford III of Harpers Ferry, West Virginia and Clifton W. Stanford of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.   He also has a daughter-in-law Amy Stanford, two grandchildren, Blythe Conover of Branson, Missouri, and Daniel Stanford of Martinsburg, West Virginia, and five great-grandchildren.  His surviving siblings are brother Ed Cook who lives in Fernandina Beach, Florida and his sister Nell Adams who lives in Clinton, Mississippi.   He has a plethora of extended family too numerous to name living throughout the country that will also miss him.

As a young adult, he joined the Air Force and was stationed at Andrews Air Force Base where he fell in love with the region.  He spent his career working for the U.S. Department of Labor as a statistician in Washington DC.   He lived in Howard and Frederick Counties in Maryland for awhile before moving into a condominium in Washington DC where he lived most of his adult life.  He moved to an assisted living facility in Frederick, Maryland in the summer of 2022.  

Since no local funeral services will be held, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
