Charles Smith

Mr. Charles I. Smith, 71, of Frederick, MD., went to be with the Lord on Saturday, August 6, 2011 at Northampton Manor. He was the husband of Shirley Smith, his wife of 41 years.

Born June 14, 1940 in New Midway, MD, he was the son of the late Clarence L. and Ivy Mae Moser Smith.

Mr. Smith was a member of Faithful Servants Church. He retired from the Frederick County Public School System and was previously employed at Rotorex. Charles loved spending time with his family, grandchildren, volunteering at the New Midway Fire Company, and going to church.

In addition to his wife he is survived by a daughter Tammy Christensen and husband Clayton of Frederick, his grandchildren Nichole and Jessica Fogle and his special niece Patricia Keeney and husband David of Thurmont. He will be remembered by other family and friends. He was preceded in death by a brother Clarence Smith and two sisters Charlotte Smith and Dorothy Stottlemyer.

The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, on Tuesday, August 9, from 2 – 4 and 7 -9 pm, where services will be held Wednesday, August 10, at 11:00 am with Pastor Janet Naill and Pastor Samuel Garrett officiating.

Interment Rocky Hill Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be James Guinn, John Speak, Joe Speak, Sandra Riesett, James Wisner and Harold Fogle.
