Charles Victor "Charlie" Rowe III, age 55, of 18437 Woodside Dr., Hagerstown, died Saturday, March 14, 2009, at the Veterans Affairs Hospital in Washington, DC.
Born Nov. 2, 1953 in Hagerstown, Charlie was a son of Elaine V. Stottlemyer Rowe of Hagerstown and the late Charles Victor Rowe Jr.
He was employed as a passport clerk with the U.S. Postal Service in Hagerstown.
Charlie was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.
He was past president of the American Postal Workers Union Local 2574 in Hagerstown and was a member of the AFL-CIO.
In addition to his mother, Charlie is also survived by one sister, Barbara E. Middlekauff and husband J. Michael of Hagerstown; one brother, Andrew A. Rowe and wife Susanne of Hedgesville, WV; two nephews, Jason and Daniel Middlekauff; and one niece, Sydney Rowe.
The family will receive friends on Thursday from 6 to 9 P.M. at Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home in Boonsboro. Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Community Free Clinic, 249 Mill St., Hagerstown, MD 21740.
