Charles Raper

Mr. Charles B. Raper, 89, of Mt. Airy, passed away on Sunday, December 28, 2014 at Lorien Life Center, Mt. Airy. He was the husband of the late Angela Nelson Raper who died in 2010.
Born on June 16, 1925, in Sutherland, IA, he was the son of the late Frederick and Lucy McCormack Raper. Mr. Raper served in the U.S. Navy during WWII, and retired as a Master Chief. Charles worked as a computer programmer for N.C.R. He was a member of the U.S. Power Squadron. Charles enjoyed sailing.
Surviving are a daughter, Jenne Valentino of Mt. Airy; two sons: Mark Raper of Mt. Airy and Craig Raper of Los Angeles, California; 4 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren; a sister, Jennie Mogensen of Iowa. Charles was preceded in death by brothers: Lester, John and Paul as well as sisters: Arlina and Louise.
The family will receive friends from 11:30 AM - 1:30 PM on Friday, January 2, at Stauffer Funeral Home, 8 E. Ridgeville Blvd., Mt. Airy where services will begin 1:30 PM with the Rev. Tim Leaman officiating.
Interment will take place in Columbia Memorial Park, Clarksville.
