Mr. Charles “Pop” Philip Ranneberger (CPR), 85 of Brunswick, MD died on Sunday, April 24, 2011 at his home.
He was the husband of Nancy Kelly Ranneberger. They were married on January 18, 1946.
Phil was born on October 8, 1925 in Frederick County, Maryland. He was the son of the late Robert Conrad and Gladys Hickman Ranneberger.
He graduated from Frederick High in 1943.
He was a member of the Buckeystown United Methodist Church, Buckeystown, Maryland.
In his earlier years he worked at MJ Grove, Matlock and Mitchell Transport as a truck driver.
Phil was a member of the Brunswick Senior Center. He drove the van for approximately five years. He enjoyed watching all sports, horse and dog racing and playing bingo.
In addition to his loving wife Nancy, he is survived by their children, Phil Ranneberger and wife Linda of Adamstown, Bob Ranneberger and wife Pat of Adamstown and David Ranneberger and wife Karen of Frederick, seven grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, a brother, Bob Ranneberger of New Jersey, two sisters, Margaret Mohler and Ruby Mehaffie both of Woodsboro, and a very special friend, Gary Brown of Brunswick.
The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1100 North Maple Ave., Brunswick on Wednesday, April 27, 2011 from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00PM.
Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, April 28 th at 11:00AM with Rev. Ronald Ellis officiating.
Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
A lunch reception will follow at Buckeystown United Methodist Church, Rt. 85, Buckeystown, MD.
Serving as pallbearers will be grandsons, Brad Ranneberger, Greg Ranneberger and Tommy Ranneberger, his grandson in-laws, Shane Leckliter, Scott Moser and Chad Howell.  Serving as an honorary pallbearer will be Gary Brown.
