Charles Lightbown

Mr. Charles S. Lightbown, 82 of Adamstown, Maryland, passed away Saturday, July 10, 2010 at his home. He was the husband of Mary Muth Lightbown, his wife of 29 years.

Born September 22, 1927 in Washington, D. C., he was the son of the late Charles S., Sr. and Sarah Jones Lightbown.

Mr. Lightbown served his Country in the U.S. Coast Guard in 1945. He retired after 34 years with the Verizon Telephone Co. Charles was a member of the Antique Automobile Association Sugarloaf Region and was a member of the Cadillac La Salle Club, Potomac Region for 35 years.

In addition to his wife he is survived by three children Charles S. Lightbown, III and wife Linda of Encino, CA, Sandra E. McCoy and husband Matthew of Rockville, MD and Barbara J. Kerns and companion Roger Lawson of Inwood, WV, five grandchildren Sarah Lightbown, Michael and Daniel McCoy and Dyland and Nathan Kerns. He will also be dearly missed by his mother-in-law Dorothy Munshower and many other family members. He was preceded in death by his only sibling, Parke P. Lightbown.

Memorial Services will be held at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, MD on Saturday, July 24, at 11:00 am with Rev. Michael Bynum and Rev. Paul Papp officiating.

Interment private.
