Charles M. Lenhart, 89, of Thurmont, MD, died December 25, 2015 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was the loving husband, of nearly 60 years, to Mary Jane (Tootie) Leatherman Lenhart.

Mr. Lenhart was born August 6, 1926 in Utica, MD, he was the son of the late Chester William and Esther Marie Stup Lenhart.

He was veteran of the United States Army (ASA) serving from 1952 through 1955, including the Korean Conflict.

He was employed by Moore Business Forms in Thurmont and the former Fredericktowne Bank & Trust Company (Now PNC) in Frederick where he worked in property management for 32 years.

He was a member of the Trinity United Church of Christ in Thurmont. He was a member of the Experimental Aviation Association and was a life member of the American Legion Post 168 in Thurmont.

Mr. Lenhart achieved a private pilot's license and enjoyed spending time at the airport with his many friends.

In addition to his wife, Tootie, he is survived by son, Michael Monroe Lenhart and wife, Teri, of Millersville; and daughter, Debra Jean Ellis and husband, Ronald, of Williamsport; brother, Donald E. Lenhart and wife, Ella; of Utica; grandchildren, Jessica Ellis Johnson and husband, Chris, Corey Ellis, Madison Lenhart and Thomas Lenhart; one great-granddaughter, Mackenzie Grace Johnson; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by sister, Madeline Young.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at Stauffer Funeral Home, 104 E. Main Street, Thurmont.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 3oth at the Stauffer Funeral Home in Thurmont with Pastor Sean DeLawder officiating. Burial will be in Blue Ridge Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Trinity United Church of Christ, 101 East Main Street, Thurmont, MD 21788 in memory of Charlie.

Following the service a reception and meal will be held in the social room of Trinity United Church of Christ where everyone is most welcome to attend.
