Mr. Charles D. (Jack) Kiser, 91, of Lewisburg, PA passed away Sunday morning, April 3, 2016, at Elmcroft of Lewisburg.
He was a son of the late Margaret Eckenrode. He was married to the former Doris Ecker, who preceded him in death on Dec. 3, 2008.
Jack was a graduate of the Thurmont Md. High School.
During the second World War he served in the Army in the 8th Armored Division, where he earned a Purple Heart.
Jack retired as production manager at Moore Business Forms, now RR Donnelley & Sons.
Jack was an active member of the VFW, Kratzer-Dull American Legion Post 182 of Lewisburg, 40 & 8, and was a member of the military honor guard for both Milton and Lewisburg area veteran's funerals.
He was a blood donor for 50 years, an avid gardener loving his roses, a fantastic cook, and a self-taught carpenter. He enjoyed golf, time with his family, puzzles, feeding wildlife, and was a "Mr. Fix-it".
He is survived by one daughter, Deone Kiser, of Lewisburg; two grandchildren, Jason Pawling, of Mt. Joy, and Jennifer McConachy and husband Paul, of Charlotte, N.C.; and three grandchildren, Sidney Pawling, of Mt. Joy, and Maddison and Kiser McConachy, of N.C.
A memorial service will be held at 11:30 AM on Saturday, April 16, at Stauffer Funeral Home, 104 E. Main St., Thurmont. Inurnment will follow in Blue Ridge Cemetery.
