Mr. Charles William King, 83, of Frederick, Maryland, died Thursday, March 12, 2015 at Citizens Care and Rehabilitation Center. He was the husband of Janet Boyer King his wife of 55 years.
Born June 29, 1931 he was the son of the late Charles Joseph and Rebecca Jane Smith King.
Charles was a graduate of Frederick High School class of 1948 followed by four years of service in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. After his military tour he was employed with Glenn L. Martin Company of Baltimore. He traveled extensively with this employment working on the Titan I &II Missile installations. Later he continued in the space field with Fairchild Space and Defense Company, retiring after 26 years. He was a life long member of the Woodsboro Evangelical Lutheran Church. His interests over the years included traveling and his “Westie “ dogs. Charles particularly enjoyed planning and overseeing the men’s luncheons at Worman’s Mill, where he served for eight years.
Charles was the last known member of the immediate family.
The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, Sunday, March 15, from 2-5:00 pm, where services will be held Monday, March 16, at 11:00 am with Pastor Kathy Rohrbach of Woodsboro Lutheran Church and Pastor Scott Clawson of New Market Methodist Church officiating.
Interment Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
