Mr. Charles Kenneth “Kenny” May, 86, of Keedysville, MD passed away on January 23, 2023 at Frederick Health Hospital. He was the husband of the late Bonnie Wisner May.
Born on July 7, 1936 he was the son of the late Charles Saylor May and Mabel Lorraine (Barns) May.
Kenny was a mason by trade, and a singer in bands around Frederick. As Lou Wade and the New Combinations went to Nashville, TN and sang back up for stars such as Mel Tillis. He was also an extra in the film The Diner, which was shot in Baltimore, MD. He was a coach for the Babe Ruth Little League Team and was a duckpin bowler.
He was a member of Pleasant View Church of The Brethren in Jefferson, MD and a member of the choir and board of the church.
Kenny’s family would like to say a special thank you to Tim May his cousin and friend.
He is survived by his son Daryl and wife Jane of SC, and daughter Brenda Baugher of Frederick, MD, his loving grandchildren; Christopher and wife Carly as well as Brian and wife Leslie. Great-grandchildren: Brady, Adelynn, Willa, and Beau whom he was so proud of. He leaves behind a sister Sandy Gouker and husband Paul, and Darlene Reeder.
He is preceded in death by his brother Donald, and sisters Guyla Beacht and Jitter Nicklas.
A celebration of Kenny's life will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, January 30th at the Pleasant View Church of the Brethren 6213 Picnic Woods Road, Jefferson, MD 21755.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Pleasant View Church of The Brethren, 6213 Picnic Woods Road, Jefferson, MD 21755.
