Charles Hoffman, 100, of Baltimore, Maryland, passed from this life on Thursday, March 7, 2019 at the Briar Meadow Assisted Living Facility in Derwood, Maryland.
Born on November 26, 1918 in Boonsboro, he was the son of the late Lewis and Edna (Beachley) Hoffman. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Roberta L. (Haynes) Hoffman, who passed in 1988.
He was a graduate of Boonsboro High School. He also attended Strayer College. Charles worked as an accountant at Ernst & Young in Baltimore. He was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
Charles was the President of the Maryland Association of CPA's and a member of the Institute of CPA's. He also served as the Director Emeritus of the Maryland Science Center and Cylburn Volunteer of the Botanical Gardens.
He is survived by his son, Kent C. Hoffman, and wife, Nancy, of Millsboro, Delaware; two sisters, Phyllis Keller of Hagerstown and Alleine Courtney. John W. Schildt will officiate. Final resting place ceremonies will follow at Pleasant View Cemetery in Rohrersville. Family and friends are invited to share in a time of food and fellowship immediately following the graveside service.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to services on Friday at the funeral home.
