Charles Favorite, Jr.

Mr. Charles “Russell” Favorite, Jr., 74, of Thurmont, Maryland, passed away Friday, June 8, 2012 at the Frederick Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of Pat Hahn Favorite, his wife of 56 years.
Born December 10, 1937 in Thurmont, MD., he was the son of the late Charles R., Sr. and Madeline Davis Favorite.
Mr. Favorite was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Thurmont, the Thurmont Lions Club, the South Mountain Rod and Gun Club, a member, and one of the original founders, of the Thurmont Riding Club. Russell retired from Miller and Long Concrete Construction Company after 45 years of service. He enjoyed riding horses and spending time with family and his dog Prissy.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children Larry Favorite and wife Kim of Semora, NC, Rick Favorite and wife Dionne of Emmitsburg, Debbie Smith and husband Lee of Hagerstown and David Favorite and wife Linda of Orange, VA, ten grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, a sister Betty Ann Kerns of Blue Ridge Summit , PA. two nieces, one nephew and his cousins.
The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 104 E. Main Street, Thurmont on Tuesday, June 12 from 2-4 and 7-9pm, where services will be held Wednesday, June 13, at 11:00 am with Pastor Susan Beck officiating.
Interment Blue Ridge Cemetery
