Charles Dorsey, Sr.

Mr. Charles Dorsey, Sr., 75, of Frederick, MD, went home to be with our Lord on Thursday, January 23, 2014. Charles was born on February 23, 1938 in Mt. Airy, MD. Charles was the son of the late Basil J. and Mandella Costley Dorsey and was the husband of Eloise Williams Dorsey.
Charles retired after 30+ years of service, as a Building Service Manager for Montgomery County Public Schools. He and his wife owned Miss Ellie’s Treasures consignment shop for many years. Charles was a member of Fairview United Methodist Church and a lifetime honorary member of Dynamic Fitness Studio. He loved spending time with his family, attending auctions, tinkering with electronics, and watching wrestling and westerns.
In addition to his wife, Charles is survived by his children; Barbara Dorsey Smith, husband Ricardo, of Germantown, MD, Cynthia Lou Dorsey, husband Warren, of Frederick, MD, Joyce Marie Lyles, husband Jerry, of Germantown, MD, Charlotte Linda Willis, husband Hammond, of Frederick, MD, Charles “Dinny” Dorsey, Jr. of Frederick, MD, and Lisa Dorsey Trujillo, husband Adrian, of Orlando, FL, 10 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, siblings Carl Dorsey, Sr. of Monrovia, MD, Herman Dorsey of Westminster, MD, Mildred Lyles of Mt. Airy, MD, and Anna Mae Richardson, husband Clement of Columbia, MD. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Brent Alexander Smith, siblings Florine Cook, Basil Dorsey, Jr., Sterling Dorsey, Arthur Dorsey and Nelda Lee.
The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, MD on Saturday, February 1, 2014, viewing from 12:30pm to1:30 pm with services immediately following.
Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Gardens
