Charles William "Bill" Cordell, 82, of Waynesboro, Pennsylvania and formerly of Brownsville, Maryland entered into eternal rest on Easter Sunday, April 24, 2011 in his home.
Born on March 3, 1929 in Zullinger, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Samuel David and Mary Edith (Moats) Cordell.
Mr. Cordell was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served during World War II.
Bill was a member of the Brownsville Church of the Brethren where he was a member of the Board of Administration and the Property Committee.
Bill worked as a painter for the Federal Aviation Administration for twenty nine years.
He is survived by his wife of fifty eight years, Doris A (Grumbine) Cordell of Quincy, Pennsylvania, and his sister Crena L. Anderson of Hagerstown. In addition to his wife and sister, Bill is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Mr. Cordell was preceded in death by one sister, Eva M. Jones; two brothers, Chester and Donald Cordell; and two infant brothers, Samuel David Cordell and Michael David Cordell.
Family will receive friends on Friday, April 29, 2011 beginning at 1:00 p.m. with a memorial service beginning at 2:00 p.m. at the Brownsville Church of the Brethren, 1911 Rohrersville Road, Brownsville, Maryland. Rev. R. Thomas Fralin, Jr. will officiate. Inurnment will follow at Brownsville Heights Cemetery.
