Charles (Charlie) William Combs

Mr. Charles (Charlie) William Combs, 77, passed away in his home in Walkersville, MD on Thursday, December 21, 2023 following a battle with lung cancer. 

Born July 7, 1946 in Frederick, he was the son of the late Virginia Boykin. 

Charlie was a 40 year employee at Digital Systems Company. He also was a 22 year volunteer with the Frederick Police Department which was his heart and soul. Additionally, he was a volunteer for 23 years with the Walkersville Fire Department. He loved serving his community and helping with all kinds of events. 

Charlie is now reunited with his wife, Sarah (Sally) Combs of 53 years; his son, Charles (Scooby) Combs; sister Darlene Rhoads; and brother, Shawn Boykin. 

He leaves behind his daughter, Sarah (Combs) Roy-Combs. 

He was a loving husband, father and friend. Charlie you will be missed in the home, in the workshop, and on the streets. 

You will always be in our hearts, go fly with the angels and watch over us. I love you dad and I will miss you. 

The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, December 30, 2023 at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick. 

Interment will be private.
