Charles Byrd

Charles Olandus Byrd, 89, was born on Januray 7, 1922 in Walker, West Virginia and passed away on August 9, 2011 in Walkersville, MD. He was the son of the late Emil Minor Byrd and Mildred Metcalf Byrd. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Evelyn Lindstrom Byrd.
Charles was a 1941 graduate of Parkersburg, High School in WV. He worked at the Review and Herald Publishing Association for 36 years, retiring in 1984. His biggest hobby was work on his Myersville farm. He was a member of the Frederick Seventh-day Adventist Church.
In addition to his wife he is survived by his son Donald Byrd; daughter-in-law Michele; grandson Charlie, all of Myersville; brother, Richard (Isabelle) of Collegedale TN; sisters, Annadell Robinson (Everett) of Silver Spring and Rosemary Hickman (Ray) of Hagerstown; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Ed and Ronnie and sister Esther Lindstrom Clegg.
A memorial service will be held in the Frederick Seventh-day Adventist on Saturday, August 27 at 4PM. Pastor Quintana and Pastor Ray Woolsey will officiate.
