On January 21, 2014, Charles Edward Burck, Jr., beloved husband of Gail P. Burck, passed away at the age of 75 after a lingering illness. Born on November 6, 1938 in Baltimore MD he was the son of the late Charles E., Sr. and Bertha Barbara Patience Burck.
After graduation from Kenwood High School Mr. Burck served in the U.S. Navy in Washington D.C. for two years and then was stationed on destroyer class ships in Norfolk, VA. After being honorably discharged from the Navy in 1964, Charles found employment with General Motors in Dundalk, MD where he worked for the next 40 years until he retired in 2005. Known to many as “Charlie,” he enjoyed photography, fishing, football, baseball and being with family and friends. Prior to moving from Baltimore County to Carroll County he was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Catonsville for 30 years. He has been a member of Peace in Christ Lutheran Church, Frederick, MD since 2005.
In addition to his wife of nearly 53 years, he is survived by a daughter, Christine B. Kraft, two granddaughters, Megan B. and Emily L., and son-in-law, J. Michael.
The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick on Saturday, January 25, 2014 from 2-4PM and 5:30-7:30PM. A funeral service will be held on Sunday, January 26 at 1:30PM at Peace in Christ Lutheran Church, 8798 Adventure Ave., Walkersville, MD. Pastor Dave Weber will officiate.
Interment will be Monday, January 27 at 1PM at Lakeview Cemetery, Sykesville.
