A loving husband, father, and brother Charles Urban Barrett was called to eternal rest on July 29th 2024. He was born in Santa Maria, CA on April 17th 1962 to the late Mr. Stanley R. Barrett and the late Clare Urban Barrett. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and counted his years of membership as a true source of strength and his service to God a privilege.
Charles graduated from high school in Daytona Beach, FL. H later earned his Associates Degree at Daytona Beach Community College. He went on to also receive a Bachelor of Arts at the University of Fl in Gainesville, in 1985. While attending the University of Florida he met and later married his first love and eternal companion the former Teresa Marie Felton. Charles was also a 2001 graduate of the Joint Military Intelligence College, Washington, DC where he earned a Masters degree in Strategic Intelligence.
He was employed by the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency predecessor agencies since 1989. He worked for the Secret Service for a large part of his career. Charles worked many years in the Federal Government and held various positions of responsibility serving in the beginning as a Cartographer and later as a Program or Project Manager overseeing many critical defense projects. During his tenure he achieved many accolades, honorary mentions, awards and published several articles. His devotion to God, family and country contributed solely to his success at home, community and work.
Along with his loving wife Teresa Felton Barrett he leaves behind 3 sons. Weston Arnell 29, Chandler Aaron 26, and Treyford Augustine 23. He is also survived by his sister Stephanie Barrett Albany, NY proceeded in death by both his father- in-law Willie Lee Felton, brother-in-law Lee A. Felton and wife Debbie Tamp, FL, brother-in-law David Williams, sister-in-law Margo Felton Adeshola and husband Mohamad, Atlanta, Ga, brother-in-law Coltrane Felton Jacksonville, FL, Sister -in-law Karla Frazier Kemp and husband Ty Tennessee, as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 8, at 3:00 PM at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 199 North Place, Frederick. A burial is planned at Peetsville Cemetery, Lawtey, FL.
