Cecil Clipp, Jr., 82, of Boonsboro, Maryland, passed from this life on Saturday, October 26, 2013 at his place of residence.
Born on July 19, 1931 in Yarrowsburg, Maryland he was the son of the late Cecil Clipp, Sr. and Elizabeth Clipp (Smallwood). He is also preceded in death by two spouses, Mary Jane (Tritapoe) Clipp and Audrey Mae (Green) Clipp.
Cecil began his career as a Milk Truck Driver and then as a Fireman for the B & O Railroad. From there he was a truck driver/owner, worked at Todd Steel Company, owned his own truck repair company, to eventually, owning his own motel and restaurant. His interests included, mushroom hunting, stock car racing, fishing, and most especially he loved purple martin bird watching. Cecil was known as a skillful handyman and was ready, willing, and able to help family and friends with any repair challenge.
He was an active member of many clubs and organizations including, the Purple Martin Society of Frederick, the Copper-Michael American Legion Post 10 in Boonsboro, the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge 1582 in Brunswick, and the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 1136 in Brunswick.
He is survived by his seven daughters, Kathy Lynne Conner of Boonsboro, Pamela Sharlene Barnhouse of Sharpsburg, Dawn Denise Ruppert of Sharpsburg, Penny Ann Rhea of Kentucky, Dianne Marie Rhinaman of Williamsport, Vicky Blaine Dinges of Frederick, and Linda Kay Butts of Hagerstown; sister, Lorraine Anders of Frederick; grandchildren, great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, and special friend, Phyllis Baker.
In addition to his parents and wives, Cecil was preceded in death by his two brothers, Ronald Clipp, Sr. and Jerry Clipp, Sr., and grandson, William Cecil Rhinaman.
A funeral ceremony will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, October 30, 2013 at the Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike, Boonsboro, Maryland. Rev. Alan M. Smith will officiate. Interment will be private.
The family will receive friends two hours prior to the funeral service, from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm, at the funeral home.
