Cathleen Watts
April 15, 1955 — March 4, 2017
Every so often, God takes a person to Heaven to show the angels the true meaning of beauty, love, and grace. That’s certainly the case with Cathleen Watts, 61, of Frederick, MD.
Cathy was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, daughter and sister, mother-in-law and sister-in-law who entered God’s kingdom on March 4, 2017 after an extended illness.
Cathy was born on April 15, 1955 in Chelsea, MA to Lester and Theresa Anderson. She married her high school sweetheart, Jeffrey Watts and recently celebrated their 43rd wedding anniversary. Cathy and Jeff resided in Vernon, NJ for 32 years before moving to Frederick, MD in 2013.
She received a gift of a transplanted liver from her husband during a living donor operation in 2006 on their anniversary. Cathy worked with the NJ Sharing Network promoting organ transplantations and founded a non-profit organization in support of America’s military personnel.
Cathy will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Jeff, their children, Robin, Jennifer, and Andrew and his wife, Sharon. She also leaves behind her the lights of her life - her five grandchildren, Elisabeth, Rebecca, Abigail, Christopher, and Andrew. Cathy will also be forever remembered by her mother, Theresa Anderson of Pickens, SC, brothers James Anderson of West Columbia, SC, and Steve Anderson of Easley, SC and sister, Mary Leister of Wilmington, NC, and many nieces and nephews.
Nothing sums up Cathy quite like the epitaph she wrote herself..."I awaken every morning just thankful to be alive. I look forward to each new day...with its blessings and challenges. I thank God for my loving family and friends who help keep me grounded and make me a better person for knowing and loving them."
The family will be receiving relatives and friends at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, MD on Thursday, March 9, 2017 from 5-8 pm and where services will be held on Friday, March 10, 2017 at 10:30 am.
