Catherine C. Eyler

Mrs. Catherine C. Eyler, 86, of Frederick, died on Friday, September 12, at Northampton Manor Nursing Center in Frederick. She was the wife of the late Joseph K. Eyler, Sr. who died in 1979.

Born on September 11, 1922, in Frederick, she was the daughter of the late Sourren L. and Rosa Mulican Welty.

She was a cafeteria worker at T.J. High School, retiring in the late 70's after 19 years service. Catherine was a member of Lewistown United Methodist Church as well as F.S.K. American Legion Post 11, in Frederick.

She enjoyed cooking, sewing, gardening and loved music, especially singing and was a member of her church choir and the Sweet Adelines.

Surviving are 2 sons: Joseph Eyler, Jr. and friend Raylene Dotson of Frederick and Richard Eyler and wife Julia of Hagerstown; 2 grandchildren Misty Eyler of Frederick and Gregory Eyler of Rehoboth Beach, DE; a great grandson, Madison Eyler of Frederick.

Catherine was preceded in death by 14 brothers and sisters and was the last of her immediate family.

Visitation: Friends may call from 2-9 PM on Tuesday, September 16, at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike in Frederick where the family will receive friends form 7-9 PM.

Services: Funeral services will be held in the funeral home chapel at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, September 17, with her pastor, Rev. Esza Hurst officiating.

Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Frederick.
