Mrs. Catherine Ann Abel Walker, 70, of Rosemont, MD died Monday, September 27, 2010 at her residence. She was the wife of the late Gerald L. “Buddy” Walker, Sr. who passed away on September 30, 2004.
Born June 10, 1940 in Loudoun County, Virginia she was the daughter of the late Garrison E. Abel and the late Clara May Ott Abel.
Mrs. Walker was a devout Catholic and a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Brunswick, MD.
She retired as the Personnel Director from the Federal Government in Washington, DC, where she was employed for 40 years.
She is survived by her four devoted sons, Gerald L. “Booty” Walker, Jr. and wife Terri of Jefferson, Christopher J. Walker and wife Barbara of Jefferson, Anthony A. Walker of Rosemont and Timothy A. Walker and wife Tamara of Chevy Chase, a devoted daughter, Victoria A. Benjamin and husband James of Mt. Savage, nine grandchildren, Heather Webber and husband Michael, Kristina Walker, James Benjamin, Jonathan Benjamin, Abigail Benjamin, Joel Benjamin, Brittany Walker, Matthew Walker and Luke Walker, and one great granddaughter, Mikayla Webber.
The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1100 North Maple Ave., Brunswick on Thursday, September 30 from 2-4 and 7-9pm. Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 1, 2010 at 1:00pm at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Catholic Church Rd., Petersville, MD with Msgr. Robert J. Jaskot and Deacon Lawrence Teixeira officiating.
Interment will be in St. Mary’s Catholic Church Cemetery, Petersville, MD.
Pallbearers will be the four sons, Gerald, Christopher, Anthony, and Timothy Walker. Also serving will be James K. Benjamin, James E. Benjamin, Michael Webber, and Robert Conner.
