Catherine L. Salsinger 98, of Mount Airy, passed away on April 18, 2013 at the Lorien of Mount Airy, MD. She was the loving wife of the late Edward F. Salsinger.
Born on August 27, 1914 in Washington, DC she was the daughter of the late John F. and Catherine Murphy Hatton.
She was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church Mt. Airy.
Catherine was an avid Baltimore Orioles fan, she enjoyed crossword puzzles and bingo. She was a good sport willing to try and do anything and was always known as a person who loved everybody and never met a stranger. She enjoyed special times and vacations with her nephew Eddie and wife Sharon and times spent playing card games and eating crabs with her niece Diane and husband Bill.
Beloved mother of Frances Ray and husband Robert of Mt Airy. Granddaughter Jeanne Yaniga and husband Mark of Damascus. Great grandchildren Matthew, Keith, Shaun and Jillian. Sister Jean Caperones. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death her brothers John and Wilbur and sisters Mildred and Irma.
Visitation will be held Monday, April 22, 2013 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Stauffer Funeral Homes, P.A., 8 East Ridgeville Blvd, Mt. Airy and one hour prior to Services on Tuesday April 23, 2013 from 10:00am until time of Services at 11:00am at Calvary United Methodist Church, 403 South Main Street, Mt. Airy, MD. Rev. Dr. Steve Larson and Jen Karsner will officiate. Interment will be at 10:30am on Wednesday April 24, 2013 in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Silver Spring.
