Catherine I. Ropp

Catherine I. Ropp, 98, of Frederick, passed from this life on Wednesday, September 4, 2024 at Bridginglife Dove House. Born on July 16, 1926, she was the daughter of Ray Davis and Frances Marie (Lewis) Davis.

In her earlier years, Catherine worked as a waitress at the Downtowner Restaurant in Frederick, and worked dietary/laundry at Meridian Nursing Home.

She is survived by a son, Donald H. Fravel, Jr; daughters, Linda Linthicum and Kathy Harrison and husband David; grandchildren: Jeanette Rice, Jeff Fravel, Jason Feaga, Jerra Feaga, Jessica Clabaugh and husband Michael, Jenelle Harrison, Michael Rippeon and Johnny Pennington; as well as numerous great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, JoAnn Pennington, a son Kenneth Ropp as well as her siblings: James Lewis Davis, Clark Lee Davis, Arthur Ray Davis, Lola Marie Smith, Rena Elizabeth Hall, Ruth Chapman Bennett and Donald W. Davis.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 11, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 12 at 11:00 am in the chapel of Stauffer Funeral Home. Interment will be at Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery, Ijamsville, Maryland.

A very special heartfelt thanks to her caregivers, Jessica (granddaughter), and Larry (friend) for all their love and care they provided. A special thank-you for the many friendships made at the Taney Village.
