Catherine Joan Estanich

Catherine (Cathy) Joan Estanich, 72, of Monrovia, Maryland passed away at home on Sunday, July 2, 2023, after a courageous battle with kidney disease.

Born on October 16, 1950, in Washington D.C. to Martin B. and Sadie E. Hunt, she was the beloved wife of 55 years to the love of her life John Samuel Estanich.

After retiring from the printing industry Cathy worked for Weight Watchers for many years bringing laughter and encouragement to fellow employees and members.

Cathy was a fun spirited soul who will be remembered for her love of family and friends, her sense of humor, kindness and generosity. For many years Cathy joyfully planned trips for her family to Emerald Isle, N.C. and hosted an annual “Family Fun Day” where many happy family memories were made. She took joy in the little things in life, reading many books, making delicious deviled eggs, and potato skins just the way she like them and bringing her “to-go” soda wherever she went. She will also be remembered humorously by her family for her strong dislike of FaceTime.

Cathy was predeceased by her brothers Gene, Eddie, Robert, Leslie and her infant grandson, Andre. She is survived by her brother Bill (Fran), her loving husband John, and her daughter Michele (Chris) and she was the proud aunt to many nieces and nephews. She will be deeply missed by all her in-laws, her best friends Vicki Moore and Lynn Guiffre, and her precious dog Lily.

The family wishes to extend their sincere appreciation to the kind and compassionate nurses at Frederick Memorial Hospice.

A memorial service will be conducted at the convenience of the family.
