Ms. Catherine Amanda "Cathie" Drake, 40, of Frederick died unexpectedly Sunday, August 17, 2014 at her home.
Born May 2, 1974 in Rockville, she was the daughter of Ralph and Brenda Drake of Frederick.
Cathie was a kind-hearted, loving, and compassionate woman, but the ultimate love of her life was her children and 10 month old grandson. She enjoyed music, dancing and reading poetry. Cathie will be greatly missed.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by two daughters, Alexus Drake and Gabriella Page; her son, Isaiah Drake; grandson, Brayden; a sister, Dawn Drake and fiancé, Rudy Zimmerman; her nephew, James Birch Jr. and his girlfriend, Eileen; her great-niece, Kayla Birch; her aunt and uncle who are also her godparents, Tom and Margaret Pross; aunt, Kathleen Holmes; and cousins, Lisa, Steve, Simon, and Mathew.
She was predeceased by two sisters, Melissa Drake and Karen Drake, her Aunt Barbara Rozell and grandparents.
She will be remembered by her best friend, Adrianne Dennis, and Adrianne's children (Cathie's godchildren), Jay and Jamess.
A memorial service will begin at 2 p.m. on Sunday, August 24, 2014 from the chapel of Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, where the family will receive friends one hour prior.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Drake/Page Children’s Fund, c/o Frederick County Bank, 6910 Crestwood Blvd., Frederick, MD 21703.
