Casilda Gomez Baez

Casilda Gomez, 71, passed away surrounded by family on May 29th, 2023 in Frederick, Maryland. Born on September 10, 1951, in Azua, Dominican Republic, she was the daughter of the late Jesus Gomez and Consuelo Cuello.

Raised in the city of Santo Domingo, Casilda loved the ocean and would spend countless hours snorkeling.  She received her Bachelor's degree in psychology, which she pursued for many years. Later in life, Cachi, as her loved ones call her, moved to New Jersey where she raised her three children, who were her entire world. Cachi was also a talented artist, bringing beautiful landscapes and portraits to life on canvas. Her art lives in the many homes of family and friends who admired her work. Cachi was vibrant, funny, and loving, and will be missed by many.

She is survived by her children Ivan (Lea) Baez, Lill (Stephen) Hull, and Elisa Baez (Kevin Patel); granddaughters Lauren, and Raquel; brothers, sisters, and also several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, June 3, 2023 from 4:00 to 6:00 PM at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, MD 21702.  Please feel free to forego funeral attire and wear bright or vibrant colors in honor of her beautiful soul.
