Mr. Casey Fitzgerald, 56 of Sabillasville, Maryland, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, January 30, 2013. He was the husband of Renee Chlan Fitzgerald, his wife of 28 years.
Born November 19, 1956 in Gettysburg, PA, he was the son of the late Jerry and Dalene Martin Fitzgerald.
Mr. Fitzgerald served his country in the U.S. Navy Seabees. He was employed as an electronic technician. Casey was an avid outdoorsman loving to split firewood by hand. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle and especially loved playing with his loyal companion and best friend“Shadow”.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his twin daughters Erin Fitzgerald of Bel Air, MD and Tara Fitzgerald of Sabillasville, his brothers and sisters Susan Willard and husband Dave of Thurmont, Michael Fitzgerald of Albuquerque, NM and Kathy Haddon and husband Dave of Lancaster, PA., nieces and nephews Deanna, Ian, Bryan, Brandon, Mara, Julia, Caleb, Mark and Milena, father and mother-in-law Edward and June Chlan, brother and sister-in-law Steven and Jill Chlan, aunt-in-law Maria Hand and David Kyle. He will also be remembered by Adam Kuykendall. Many aunts, uncles and cousins also survive. He was preceded in death by his brother Sean Kelly Fitzgerald.
The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 104 E. Main Street, Thurmont on Sunday, February 3, from 2-4 and 7-9 pm, where services will be held Monday, February 4, at 11:00 am with Deacon John Hawkins officiating.
Interment will be private
