Caryl Barnett

May 19, 1932 — October 11, 2017

Mrs. Caryl Dauber Barnett, 85, of Adamstown, MD died Wednesday, October 11, 2017 peacefully at home in the care of her family.  Born May 19, 1932, in Washington, D.C., she was the daughter of Carl Wilhelm and Emma Ida Dauber.  Married in 1953, she was the wife of the late Ronald Gene Barnett, Sr. (1932-2007).

Caryl worked for Montgomery County Public Schools, Division of Food and Nutrition Services from 1967 until her retirement in 1992.  She performed many duties, working her way to the manager of a central satellite kitchen servicing multiple schools.  Caryl was loved by all who knew her and was affectionately known by her grandchildren as "G-Dawg" and her great-grandchildren as "GG".  She never met a stranger and always had a kind word for everyone.  She loved the Lord throughout her life and served him faithfully through her church and her beloved Emmaus community, where she and her husband Ron found a true calling to service, enriching their own relationship with the Lord and others.

She is survived by her oldest son, Ron Barnett, Jr. and wife Dee, James Barnett and wife Shelley, Diana Barnett, Patty Rogers and Ed Ingraham, William Barnett and wife, Mary.  Ten grandchildren; Jamie Smith, Rebecca Chesney, Jennifer Barnett, Robert Barnett, Justin Rogers, Jessica Barnett, Jeffrey Rogers, Kristen Barnett, Toni Barnett and Brandon Barnett.  Seven great-grandchildren; Andrew Kerr, Dennis Smith, III, Braxton Chesney, Ryder Smith, Cecilia Chesney, Sawyer Meacham and Brayden Barnett.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, October 14 from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at Buckeystown United Methodist Church, 3440 Buckeystown Pike, Buckeystown, MD 21717.  A service will immediately follow at 11:00 AM, Pastor Charles Rice officiating.  Interment will be in Parklawn Memorial Park, Rockville.
