Carson {Gene} Corum

Carson Gene Corum, 55 of Cumberland, MD passed away on August 2, 2009 at his home.

Born August 23, 1953 in Burkittsville, MD he was the son of the late Floyd and Garnetta Corum.

Gene was a member of AA in Cumberland and he had just celebrated his third year of sobriety.

He enjoyed playing cards and he loved sports, especially football and baseball. He was son avid Philadelphia Eagles fan.

He also loved spending time with his family and he enjoyed the family cookouts and spending the Holidays together.

He is survived by his four sisters, Barbara Riley and husband Frank of Myersville, Patsy Smith of Frederick, Linda Fowler and husband Johnny of Myersville and Faye Corum of Frederick, two brothers, Ricky Corum and wife Chrissy of Frederick and Floyd Dukey Corum and partner Peggy of Frederick. He will also be remembered by his numerous nieces, nephews, his special nephew Cody, great nieces, and nephews and all of his special friends from AA.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Randy Corum and a nephew, Derek Riley.

Visitation: The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossum town Pike, Frederick on Friday, August 7, from 6:00-9:00 PM.

Services: Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, August 8 at 10:00AM with Major Raymond N. Prat officiating.

Interment will be in Rest haven Memorial Gardens, Frederick.
