Carroll William Lescalleet, age 66, of 10931 Haugh's Church Road, Keymar, MD, died from natural causes Monday, Dec. 1, 2008, at his home.
Born April 19, 1942 in Lewistown, MD, he was a son of the late Harvey Alton and Lula Idalee Whitmore Lescalleet.
He was preceded in death by his life partner, June Marie Shewbridge.
He had been employed as a heavy equipment operator for Raymond Martin Excavating.
His hobby was playing bluegrass music on many different musical instruments which were all self-taught. He also enjoyed raising animals, especially rabbits, and working on small engines.
He is survived by one daughter, Jacqueline Harris and husband Joshua of State Line, PA; four sisters, Frances I. Birks of New Oxford, PA, Mildred L. Moberly of Jefferson, MD, Nancy L. Ray of Emmitsburg, MD, and Helen L. Johnson of Thurmont, MD; one brother, Dennis W. Lescalleet of Keymar, MD; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by three sisters, M. Kathryn Southerland, M. Genevieve Besore and Patsy Hess; and two brothers, George F. Lescalleet and Earl A. Lescalleet.
Funeral services will be held 2:30 P.M. Friday at Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home. The Rev. R. Thomas Fralin Jr. will officiate. Burial will be in the Brownsville Heights Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Thursday from 6 to 8 P.M. at the funeral home.
