Carroll Hose

March 19, 1913 — March 15, 2008

Carroll Shifler Hose, of Mapleville Road and currently residing at Fahrney-Keedy Memorial Home both in Boonsboro, died Saturday, March 15, 2008 at Washington County Hospital.


Born March 19, 1913 in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late Joseph F. and Carrie Shifler Hose.


He was preceded in death by his wife, Nellie M. Carson Hose, February 28, 1974.


He was a veteran of WWII serving in the United States Army's 25th Infantry Division.


He was a retired employee of Brandt Cabinet Works in Hagerstown.


He attended the Fahrney-Keedy Memorial Home Chapel, Mapleville.


He was a charter member of Clopper-Michael Post 10 American Legion in Boonsboro; Guadalcanal Campaign Veteran Assn.; and the AARP.


He is survived by one niece, Joanne Smith of Boonsboro.


He was preceded in death by sisters, Velma Hose and Elizabeth E. Evans; and brothers, J. Frank Hose and Fred Hose.


Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 19 at Bast Funeral Home in Boonsboro with Rev. Louis L. Emerick officiating. Burial will be in the Boonsboro Cemetery.


The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
