Carroll Joseph Flook, 81, of Myersville, Maryland, died on Sunday, February 27, 2011 at the University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore.
Born on May 27, 1929 in Myersville, he as the son of the late Ezra D. and Rosa (Hoffman) Flook, Sr.
Carroll was the owner and operator of Flook Drywall Contractors since 1959.
He was a lifelong member of the Myersville Church of the Brethren and had served many years as the Chairman of the Church Board. He had also served on the Board for the Fahrney-Keedy Home & Village in Boonsboro.
Carroll enjoyed traveling and antiquing. He will be greatly missed by his coffee club friends, with whom he shared time every morning for 40 years.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Patricia F. (Shank) Flook; his three sons, Carroll (Joe) Flook and his wife Karen of Myersville, Jeffrey L. Flook of Hagerstown, and Leslie J. Flook and his wife Tandra of Myersville; his sister, Anna Mae Stottlemyer of Mt. Lena; and his three brothers, Clarence Flook of Hagerstown, Leon and Richard Flook, both of Myersville. He is also survived by his five grandchilren, Justin, Joseph, Bryan, Patty and Hollie Flook.
In addition to his parents, Carroll was preceded in death by his two brothers, Ezra Flook, Jr. and John Flook; and his three sisters, Minnie Routzahn, Mary Faulders and Rachel Trail.
A funeral ceremony will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, March 4, 2011 at the Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike, Boonsboro. Rev. James Flora will officiate. Burial will follow at the Grossnickle Cemetery in Myersville.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Friday at the funeral home.
