Carolyn Kay Campbell, 75 of Hagerstown, MD went home to be with the Lord on September 2, 2022, at her home.
Born on October 24, 1946, in Waynesboro, PA she was the daughter of the late Glenn C. Stine (died 2010) and Agnes “Peg” E. Rexroad Stine (died 2011). She graduated from Waynesboro Area High School in 1964 and Washington County Hospital School of Nursing in 1967. She worked in various fields of nursing in Hagerstown, San Antonio, TX, and Washington DC. She also worked in pharmacy and childcare (including her grandchildren) and care of her elderly parents into their nineties.
She was in Girl Scouts as a child in Greencastle, PA and volunteered as a Brownie leader at Greenbrier Elementary School while her daughters attended there. She enjoyed fishing with her husband on the Potomac River and traveling almost anywhere. At home she enjoyed flower gardening, cooking, sewing, reading and watching movies. She attended church and bible studies her entire life. She was a member of Concordia Lutheran Church. In retirement she enjoyed volunteering at various places and started with Williamsport Retirement Village.
She is survived by her husband, Lawrence “Larry” E. Campbell, whom she married September 21, 1975; two daughters, Sarah K. Kelly and husband Darren with grandchildren, Jayden, Giovanni and Micah of Waynesboro, PA, Judith A. Campbell and husband Donovan McMullin of Smithburg, MD, one stepson Andrew J. Campbell and wife Jennifer with step grandchildren Victoria, Andrea, Joseph and Timothy of Walkersville, MD.
She is also survived by a brother, Ronald C. Stine and wife Stephanie of Baldwinsville, NY and sister Susan M. Bock and husband Daniel of Waynesboro, PA. Also, many beloved nieces and nephews.
A service will be held on Friday, September 9, 2022 at 2pm at the Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike, Boonsboro, MD. Her pastor Mark Moretz will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at 1pm.
Burial will be private at the convenience of the family in the Boonsboro Cemetery.
